Helix Hydro Plastic Hydraulic Control Valves

The major development of a market garden row-crop property in northern Victoria focused on installing Helix Hydro 80mm plastic full-flow valves due to their low head loss and reliability.

The hydraulic valves are installed along the main line in a “T” configuration, with irrigation blocks on both sides. Each 80mm valve will run 60 full circle ½” plastic sprinklers.

Installing the valves below ground eliminates any mechanical damage when harvesting or preparing the ground for planting

The hydraulic valves are controlled by running an 8mm command tube from the central irrigation control system to each 80mm valve.

When the solenoid is energised, it allows the remote valve to open. When the solenoid is de-energised, the valve will close, directing water to the top of the diaphragm.
